People living in far out communities are more and more common these days. It only makes sense that car buyers would want to find the best commuter cars possible. In this article I'll be highlighting the best cars for long commutes and then listing the top 10 cities you wouldn't want to drive them in.

Are you one of these people that has a long commute to get you to where you need to be on a daily basis? Nowadays due in part to urban sprawl roughly paraphrased as; "the act of people living farther out in rural communities making it necessary to commute daily," is a more common occurance.

There's a troubling trend that's been emerging for some time now known as the "Commuter Crawl" or "Sprawl Crawl." This term refers to people living in sprawling communities leaving for their daily commute earlier than normal to make it to work on time. Because this is a practice many people adhere to in certain areas of the U.S. it often serves to make traffic even worse even earlier in the day.

Let me start off by saying I'm sorry if you live in or near one of these cities. I myself live in the Detroit area where we spend on average 179 hours a year in our vehicles. So let me re-phrase my first statement. I'm sorry San Francisco, Oakland and Fremont. We're only trailing you by 3 hours a year.
